Overview
Security Management Resources® has been retained by a leading manufacturer to find an energetic and results-focused Regional Security Manager to oversee operations across the LATAM region. This position calls for an experienced and adaptable leader who can protect people, assets, and facilities while advancing strategic and hands-on security programs. The person in this new role will work closely with corporate and regional teams to strengthen policies, reduce risks, manage crises, and uphold the company’s reputation in LATAM. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, and Portuguese language skills are an advantage. The position is based in Texas with regular travel to Latin American countries where the company operates.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership through development and execution of a comprehensive regional security strategy that aligns with global objectives, addresses unique risks within the region, adapts through ongoing assessments, and leverages emerging technologies to counter evolving threats.
- Oversee security operations to ensure consistent risk reduction and protection of employees and assets through effective process management, facility security enhancements, and coordinated crisis response to emergencies and natural disasters.
- Lead and develop the regional security team; deliver training to security staff and a broader workforce on key security practices.
- Lead regional security assessment and mitigation efforts by identifying and addressing threats and risks.
- Manage investigations in compliance with company and legal standards.
- Collaborate with corporate leadership to develop and enforce regional security policies that establish clear protection goals and ensure compliance through effective audit management and remediation.
- Build strong partnerships with local law enforcement, industry peers, and regional business leaders, aligning initiatives through regular briefings and collaboration.
- Support supply chain and traveler security initiatives.
Requirements, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- University degree in a relevant field of study, together with additional ongoing professional development.
- 10+ years of experience that can include a combination of public sector law enforcement and private sector corporate security.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English at a native level, with exceptional cross-cultural communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural abilities, adept at influencing, building trust, and collaborating effectively in complex, matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated success leading projects and programs with proven crisis management and problem-solving ability.
- Technically proficient in physical security systems and experience managing third-party vendors.
- US Passport holder with the ability to travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
