Overview
Security Management Resources® has been retained to identify our client’s next Head of Global Security. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded multinational in the dynamic energy sector. This position will provide leadership and direction for a team of security practitioners and will oversee all aspects of enterprise security strategies and operations on a global scale. The position is headquartered in Texas and will regularly travel worldwide. Top-level compensation and benefits are on offer for a compelling leader and collaborator.
Responsibilities
- Develop and administer new and current corporate-wide security policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with government and regulatory standards and in alignment with the company’s overall goals and aims.
- Lead a global team chartered with a wide range of accountabilities, including physical security, investigations, threat assessment and mitigation, executive protection, travel security programs, and training and awareness.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and other key internal and external stakeholders to develop and ensure resilience standards.
- Oversee crisis management and incident response planning.
- Support security training programs for employees, fostering a security-conscious culture within the organization.
- Develop and support worldwide professional relationships with relevant high-level law enforcement and international counterparts, including security and intelligence agencies and private sector peers.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging threats to continually enhance security awareness programs.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- An academic degree in a relevant field with a commitment to professional development for direct reports, others, and yourself.
- Extensive experience leading people within a large, geographically diverse organization, preferably within the energy sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to accurately interpret complex situations across global justice systems.
- Experience working with decision-makers to positively affect the outcome of policies and regulations.
- Impeccable ethics, integrity, and moral courage, with the ability to ensure trust, respect, and reliability, with a wide-ranging audience.
- The ability to travel globally, sometimes on short notice.
