Our client, an organization operating in a mission-driven, public-facing environment, is seeking a senior-level physical security leader to serve as its security subject matter expert. This is a highly hands-on, individual contributor role ideal for someone who wants to both set strategy and personally design, run, and improve the program. This position represents an evolution of an existing function to elevate both the caliber of leadership and the maturity of the organization’s overall physical security strategy.

You are the ideal candidate for this position if you also have:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in security, criminal justice, or related field.
- Continuing education and/or certifications in physical security or emergency management.
- Extensive experience in physical security, protective services, or related field and a proven individual contributor with a hands-on execution mindset.
- Experience in mission-driven or public interest environments with exposure to threat assessment.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, risk assessment methods, and modern security technologies.
- Excellent communication, judgment, discretion, organization, and ability to operate independently.
What You’ll Take Ownership of in This Role
- Serve as the organization’s sole physical security leader and its lead authority on all physical security matters. Provide direct advice to senior leadership on risk, protective measures, and security operations.
- Manage the physical security program, including policies, procedures, and day-to-day operations across locations.
- Conduct threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments; recommend and implement improvements based on changing conditions.
- Develop and execute emergency response plans, incident management protocols, and business continuity measures.
- Oversee security vendors, systems, and external partners; maintain relationships with law enforcement and other agencies.
- Lead protective efforts for personnel and events, coordinate investigations, and partner with internal stakeholders on security and personnel risk matters.
