Overview
Security Management Resources® has been engaged to identify top candidates for a newly created position overseeing operational security, risk, and crisis management programs across Latin America. Our client – a well-regarded multinational manufacturer – is seeking a seasoned operational security leader to evaluate, design, and implement a diverse range of protection and prevention initiatives in the region. This is an exceptional career opportunity to move into a hands-on leadership role within a respected global organization.
The ideal candidate will be multilingual, with experience working for corporations operating in Latin America. Previous government service, particularly in roles involving liaison work with senior law enforcement and security agencies abroad, will be considered a strong advantage. The position is based in Texas in a hybrid capacity and requires frequent international travel throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee a regional security program that addresses current and future threats, ensuring alignment with global objectives through collaboration with corporate and local leadership.
- Provide leadership and oversight of physical security operations, including implementation of facility security protocols and coordination of crisis management strategies.
- Regularly assess vulnerabilities and integrate leading-edge technology to proactively counter emergent risks.
- Lead and mentor the regional security team and provide training on security topics for a diverse audience.
- Conduct regional investigations and address supply chain security initiatives in compliance with corporate standards.
- Assess regional travel safety risks and implement protocols to safeguard people, products, and brand integrity.
- Foster strong relationships with business leaders, security managers, and law enforcement agencies within the region.
Requirements, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- A university degree with additional and/or ongoing professional development.
- Operational ability derived from a combination of experience in both the public and private sectors.
- Native-level proficiency in Spanish and English with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Highly skilled in managing emergencies, making strategic decisions, and addressing challenges.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interviewing techniques, thorough execution, and capable of producing clear reporting.
- US Passport holder with the ability to travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
