The Opportunity
SMR’s client is seeking a strong US-based security generalist to join their global security team. This new role reports jointly to both corporate management and senior regional leaders. Your goal will be to establish yourself as the go-to source for guidance on all aspects of general security, risk management and protection of assets within North, Central and South America. You will develop processes and programs designed to protect our client’s facilities and operations that are in keeping with the overall corporate security posture. You will accurately assess risk, recommend solutions and be a hands-on crisis team player should the need arise. You will also develop relationships with local law enforcement and government agencies as part of a comprehensive intelligence program while ensuring compliance with any legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will oversee travel safety and security within the region.
The Person
This position is a great fit for someone who has a diverse range of experience as a security generalist. Public sector experience with knowledge of government and law enforcement agencies will be valuable. Working internationally for a private sector multinational is also preferred. Desired specialized experience includes senior executive protection, event security and successful completion of complex investigations around international white-collar crime. You should be comfortable working in a matrix-management structure and have the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse cultural setting and with team members who are remotely located. English is required and additional language skills will be helpful. The ability to travel both domestically and on an international basis is required.
