Overview
Security Management Resources® has been retained to identify candidates for a new position charged with the oversight of security programs in Latin America. Our client, a respected multinational manufacturer, is expanding their security, risk, and assets protection programs in ten countries within Latin America. The position will be based in Mexico and support the implementation of corporate security policies within the region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior security professional with regional expertise. English fluency is required with Spanish and Portuguese language skills a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior corporate security leadership and local management to develop and manage regional security programs.
- Visit remote sites to assess the readiness of security operations and ensure regulatory requirements and compliance standards are in effect.
- Develop assets protection strategies designed to safeguard enterprise assets, operations, and employees.
- Initiate and manage activities of third-party contractors.
- Foster invaluable relationships with government and law enforcement agencies across the region.
- Regularly update senior leadership about potential harm or reputational risk.
- Lead investigations into potential thefts, deceptions, or supply chain interruptions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to devise and implement emergency planning and response activities.
- Drive security training programs to prevent incidents and increase awareness.
Requirements, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- A university degree with additional and/or ongoing professional development.
- Operational ability derived from a combination of experience in both the public and private sectors.
- Experience conducting multi-country security operations and investigations.
- An initiative-taker with the skills needed to design, manage, and successfully complete complex projects.
- The ability to quickly respond to incidents sometimes on short notice.
- Experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of people.
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design/ CPTED knowledge preferred.
- Fluent in English with Spanish and Portuguese language skills preferred.
- Current citizen of Mexico or the ability to obtain a resident/work permit for the country.
