Summary

Security Management Resources, Inc.™ is conducting a search for a Head of Protection Services for a family office in Southern California. Our client is seeking a senior security professional to lead a mid-sized team chartered with providing comprehensive security and protection services. This position will play a critical role in the prevention of and protection from any potential threats. This is an outstanding job for a security professional with prior US Federal Government law enforcement experience and offers an exceptional compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and direct the activities of a team of protection professionals to ensure round-the-clock security.
• Monitor intelligence sources to identify and develop protective countermeasures for potential threats.
• Conduct security vulnerability assessments.
• Select and oversee the activities of any third-party contractors.
• Coordinate emergency or crisis response activities with local law enforcement agencies.
• Function as a discrete, trusted member of a tight-knit community.
• May be required to live at residential properties at times.

Requirements, Skills, and Competencies

• Continuing education in a related discipline such as criminal justice or security management.
• Experience working for a US Federal Government agency in a protection services capacity.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of physical security systems and technology.
• Advanced executive protection skills.
• Preference for candidates who reside in California or who have previous ties to the region.
• US Citizenship required.
