Overview
Security Management Resources® has just opened a new recruitment for a director-level security role for one of our returning clients. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced security management professional to join a multinational corporation that is well respected across multiple industry sectors. Our client is seeking an innovative relationship builder who excels at integrating a wide variety of security, risk, and resilience functions into comprehensive, state-of-the art protection programs. You will be viewed as the trusted authority on organizational security practices. This is a fantastic job for someone who is successful working both independently and in collaboration across organizations to influence and achieve consensus. The role is based in Western New York and requires global travel to diverse enterprise facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and implement comprehensive security strategies to protect corporate assets, operations, and human capital.
- Evaluate physical security technology options, manage the installation of new systems, and influence the adoption of related new policies and practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws.
- Develop standards and manage contracts for multiple third-party vendors that aid with infrastructure protection and physical asset transit security.
- Lead the corporation’s anti-money laundering efforts and conduct investigations surrounding fraud, theft, or misappropriation of property.
- Develop and support relationships with local law enforcement, international security agencies, and country governments.
- Develop and analyze intelligence to accurately assess potential threats.
- Create and support emergency response and disaster recovery plans.
- Work cross-functionally to foster awareness of security related concerns through development and delivery of education initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver briefs to executives and board leadership on a regular basis.
- Represent the corporation’s security function through participation in external organizations, committees, and leadership teams.
Requirements, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- A university degree in a related discipline with a commitment to professional development for direct reports, others, and yourself.
- Demonstrated success leading people, processes, and programs in the fields of security, crisis management, investigations, and asset protection in a large geographically diverse organization.
- Ability to influence and build relationships and partnerships from a remote location.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clarify goals and collaborate across functions.
- In-depth knowledge of physical security principles and practices with the ability to research, initiate, and manage related projects and initiatives.
- Experience collaborating seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Experience developing, implementing, and developing consensus around strategic policies and procedures.
- Will travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
- Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
